blackberry bourbon smash
INGREDIENTS
8 limes, halved
1/3 Cup sugar
12 Ounce blackberries
2 Sprig thyme
1 Cup Your Favorite Smoked Simple Syrup
1 Quart soda water
2 Ounce bourbon
PREPARATION
Steps
1
When ready to cook, set Z Grill temperature to 500℉ and preheat, lid closed, for 10 to 15 minutes.
2
Dip cut side of limes in granulated sugar and place directly on the grill grate cut side down. Grill 10 minutes or until grill marks develop.
3
Remove from grill and let cool. When cool enough to handle, juice limes and reserve.
4
Combine the blackberries with 2 Tbsp sugar. Using the rim of a glass or a fork, lightly crush the blackberries to allow some of the juice to escape.
5
Add 2 sprigs of thyme. Allow the blackberries to sit in the sugar for 30 minutes. Remove the thyme sprigs.
6
Combine the lime juice and Z Grill Simple Syrup. Stir in the crushed blackberries. Add 3 cups of the club soda and stir.
7
Taste, adding more club soda if desired. This mixture can be served as a non-alcoholic drink.
8
To make the Blackberry Smash, fill a Collins glass with ice. Pour in 1/2 cup of the blackberry-limeade, then 2 oz of your favorite bourbon.
9
Stir to mix and garnish with a thyme sprig. Enjoy!
